The announcement of the implementation of the Addis Abababa Master Plan (AAMP) was just an extension of an attempt by EPRDF government at legalizing its plans of ridding the Oromo people from in and around Finfinne by grabbing Oromo land for its party leaders and real estate developers from the Tigrean community. The act of destroying Oromo farmers by taking away their only means of survival—the land—precedes the current master plan by decades.  Ermias Legesse, exiled EPRDF Deputy Minister of Communication Affairs, acknowledged his own complicity in the destruction of 150,000[1] Oromo farmers in the Oromia region immediately adjacent to Finfinne. He testifies that high-level TPLF/EPRDF officials are responsible for planning and coordinating massive land-grab campaigns without any consideration of the people atop the land.  Ermia's testimony is important because it contains both the actus reus  and dolus specials of the mass evictions[2]:

The Tigrayan minority TPLF-led Ethiopian regime has continued arresting and torturing of the Oromo nationals in an attempt to stop the struggle of the Oromo nation for freedom, democracy and justice. 

Currently, the atrocities committed by this regime on innocent Oromo civilians have been escalated to unimaginable scale. Hundreds of Oromo students, teachers, farmers, daily labourers, and civil servants are languishing in prisons located at several places in Oromia. 

The overwhelming majority of those who are sent to detention centres are subjected to severe and inhuman torture. Some have died in prison cells or thrown out of jail and left to die in hospital simply because they couldn’t stand the torture. Oromo nationalists Wako Tola (teacher), Usmayyo Musa (singer), Alamayehu Gerba (handicapped university student), Nimona Tilahun (former University student), Tesfahun Chemeda (engineer), Aslan Hassan (university student), and many others are all killed by the regimes police as a direct result of torture while in prison cells. Those who survive the brutal torture will be subjected to trumped-up charges and will be brought to judges of the kangaroo court of the regime. Before bringing to the court false witnesses are prepared and “evidence” is planted at their homes by the regimes police and convicted based on these fake testimony and made-up and planted “evidence”. Others are kept in prison indefinitely without any charge at all. In few cases judges render a “not-guilty” verdict after the prisoners have already spent several years in jail and let them go “free”.

If a week is a long time in politics, then a year is an eternity. And in the case of Oromo politics, a lot has changed in the last year. By all accounts, Oromos had a good year.

First, Teddy Afro’s song praising Menilik II ignited the furry of Oromos resulting in numerous songs, poems, articles highlighting the savagery and barbarity of Menilik II during and after colonization. The memories of Walloo, Galaan, Gullellee, Azule and Calii-Calanqoo massacres (just to mention few) and the Harma fi Harka Muraa Aanoole where thousands of Oromo men, women and children breasts or arms were severed by the colonial army spearheaded by Menilik showed that the wounds have not healed and that Oromos would never forget.

Long, long ago, when this writer was a kid the common folks defined politics as art of lying. It was not something expected to be practiced by descent people. For the learned that was taken as definition of the ignorant and so defined it as art of governance. Now at this age when we see it, the” ignoramus” definition was more near to the truth. For this reason lying has become the norm.  Anyone that has power, control over the media and the purse is seen getting away with it. No wonder to see petty dictators release white lie about their criminal acts and intentions twisting facts and figures in support of anticipated goal.  Constitutions, rules and regulations are drawn supposedly to show individual responsibilities and accountability but in reality they are part of the lies of dictators and deceivers. All information states and collaborating media release should not be swallowed before checking the intention and the source. They are mostly lies. The following paragraphs are to show differences of seeking independence and maintaining the empire state by democratizing it. The two have clear distinctions of principle that only the gullible cannot distinguish. Here “Our” refers to those who struggle for independence and “Their” is for the government and its opposition and opposition to be.

Ethiopia sets up anti-Ebola committee

“A national committee is SET UP to design a guideline enabling to prevent Ebola,” institute spokesperson Abel Yeshaneh told Anadolu Agency. "The guideline will be made official soon.”  

Ethiopia has set up a national committee to draw up a plan to prevent and contain any possible outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus, which is currently sweeping West Africa, the country’s Public Health Institute said.

“A national committee is set up to design a guideline enabling to prevent Ebola,” institute spokesperson Abel Yeshaneh told Anadolu Agency. "The guideline will be made official soon.”

“Members of the committee are drawn from the Ethiopian Airlines, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders,” he said.

Across this planet, people have used music in diverse ways. For many, music is not only an expression of merely one’s culture; it is also a vehicle for vocalizing social and political outcries. Music has been used to artistically protest against unacceptable conditions and treatment, such as oppression and state repression, to communicate, to relieve psychological or physical stress and strain, and to relay significant political messages to the general masses. From the “We Shall Overcome” musical outcry of the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. to the music of anti-Apartheid movements in South Africa, music has become a vital mode of social relief and political expression.Today, I would like to particularly look at revolutionary musical artists from two Oromo music bands that formed in the early 1990s when the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) joined the transitional government of Ethiopia.
