Ethiopia: Official dismissed as wife faces charges

AP /  November 29, 2012

Fired Junedin Sado
Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Thursday fired the country’s civil minister, Junedin Sado, whose wife is one of 29 people facing terrorism charges related to protests by Muslims who accuse of the government of meddling in their religious affairs.

Sado published a letter in the country’s independent newspapers in which he defended his wife and criticized the federal prosecutor’s charges.

Also in Thursday’s Cabinet reshuffle, Hailemariam promoted two ministers to double as deputy prime ministers, giving the country three deputy prime ministers for the first time, a sign the ruling party is favoring collective leadership after the August death of its longtime leader Meles Zenawi.

Tedros Adhanom was appointed as the country’s new foreign affairs minister.

  3. The same story is happening again and again to the traitors of the Oromo people . OPDO and others who want to serve the habeshas are always a use and throw. Junedin is a man behind the death of our Oromo brothers and sisters with in the last 21 years. He was a use and throw used for 21 years to kill oromos and exploit Oromia by TPLF regime but now out of service there for thrown out by TPLF. can this situation awake many OPDOs from their sllep ? time tells .

  5. While we were crying for our brothers and sisters killed by brutal Abyssinians, Junedin was laughing with Zenawi for a piece of meat from his lord as a faithful dog but now, we have to laugh loud at Junedin. Shame on you Junedin and other OPDOs who are working for colonizers. For those who have normal mind it is time to resign from OPDO and unified with their freedom fighters of the Oromo people. Oromia republic will be a reality with our blood.
