ETV- Zero, Ethiopia 1 - Zambia 1, and Oromia is represented by flags flying high

21 January 2013

The third day in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON)2013 enjoyed an entertaining match between the two countries in group C of the tournament. Ethiopia welcomed to the continental cup after a lengthy absence with a fixture against defending champions, Zambia. The game held in Mbombela Stadium of South Africa and ended with a draw result between the two national teams.

In the build up of this AFCON 2013 there was much about the broadcasting rights of the tournament and prices to be paid by all national television stations interested to broadcast the games live in their countries. According to reports from Rapid TV News, Media company LC2, the broadcasting rights owner of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) 2013 said Cape Verde, Gambia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Zambia and Mozambique have all been affected due to not paying the appropriate media charges needed.

But today ETV sent the game illegally and are waiting to pay the price that comes legally from Media company LC2 after a big media crime committed by shameful ETV. ETV is humiliated officially with illegally transmitting the match live. The humiliation was complete when a broadcast announcement that it broadcasts a transmission from another channel without paying what is due showed up on the screen.

The announcement shows that Media Campany LC2, the official broadcasting rights owner of this tournament will take all the necessary and possible legal actions against a national thief television, ETV. It reads as "ETV, the Ethiopian national television, is broadcasting this competition without paying the media rights to LC2-AFNEX. This constitutes an act of piracy punished by law. It is also prejudicial to the African football economy"

More over ETV was tempted to cover some parts of the transmission because of the atmospher in the Stadium, but couldn't do that and ends in disappointment of ETV administration and Weyanne juntas. The Stadium was full of Cheer to support the Ethiopian team by Ethiopians in South Africa with the Ethiopian flag and proud Oromo nationalists in South Africa with the Oromo Liberation front(OLF) flag. ETV is forced to show the true flag of OLF flying high in South Africa that can represent the Oromia nation better than all what was going on at that moment home and abroad through out the game related to this tournament. Madda Walaabuu Press would like to appreciate Oromo nationalists who showed courage and commitment for their identity. The Oromo nation under the shadow of Abyssinia is represented in the AFCON 2013 in South Africa by these Oromo nationalists more than other things seen in the Stadium through out the game.

ETV humiliated, Ethiopia and Zambia shared one goal each and Oromia represented with flags flying high by Oromo nationalists.
