Ethiopia’s Kangaroo Court Sentences Oromo Political Prisoners from 3 to 12 years in prison

Ethiopian Federal Court gave a prison sentence to an Oromo nationalist and political prisoner from three to twelve years in prison.The defendants were arrested in 2010 and were accused of being members or sympathizers of the Oromo Liberation Front, or OLF, which the government considers to be a terrorist group.

Most of the prisoners are members of Oromo People`s Congress(OPC) and Oromo Federalist Democratic Movement(OFDM). Some of them are listed below:-

3. Mulatu Abdissa.......... 
4. Wegayehu Dejene....... 12 years prison sentence
5. Bulcha Sori Guyu....... Oromo People`s Congress, 3 years prison sentence (78 years old)
6. Gutu Mulisa............... Oromo People`s Congress, 9 years prison sentence
7. Asfaw Angaso..........   Oromo People`s Congress, 4 years and 6 months sentence
8. Mezgebu Debela.......  5 years prison sentence
9. Itana Senbeto........Oromo Federalist Democratic Movement, 7 years and 6 months sentence
10. Taddese Gelalcha.... .Oromo People`s Congress, 4 years and 6 months prison sentence
11. Waqgari lechisa.......Oromo People`s Congress, 9 years sentence
12.  Gurmesa Fufa.........Oromo People`s Congress, 4 years and 6 months prison sentence

 and others oromo nationalist sentences from 3 to 12 years.

አራተኛ ወንጀል ችሎት ፍርድ አሣለፈ

የፌደራሉ ከፍተኛ ፍርድ ቤት አራተኛ ወንጀል ችሎት ዛሬ በ45 ሰዎች ላይ ከሦስት ዓመት እስከ 12 ዓመት የሚደርስ የእሥራት ፍርድ ሰጠ፡፡

ፍርዱ ከተላለፈባቸው መካከል በ1997 ዓ.ም በተካሄደው ምርጫ የፓርላማ ወንበር የነበራቸው ይገኙበታል፡፡
