Now the regime wants to blame Aslan (Nuredin) Hasan (the Haromaya University student who died while in custody) for the grande attack that killed his classmates. The regime alleges that Aslan and three of his friends ( Abebe Urgessa, Nimona Chala, Megersa Worku) planned and carried out the attack. But this doesn't hold up to simple scrutiny.

1) Motive: We know that almost all the victims ( including Abdissa Adam who died) were Oromo students who were watching soccer gameorganized by the Oromo Language and Culture Development Club...which the four students were also active members. So why would the four students attack their own classmates and club comrades?

2) Recall that few days after the attack the government announced apprehension of the alleged perpetuates. However Aslan and other 10 students were kidnapped almost a month later on the night of May 29. Yet in this report the regime doesn't mention the previous suspects and puts blame squarely on the four students.

3) The regime says Nimona Chali and Aslan were arrested together on campus. (ሁኔታዎች ተረጋግተዋል በሚል ግምት ወደ ሀሮማያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የተመለሱትና በተለያዩ ቦታዎች ተሰውረው የቆዩት ኒሞና ጫሊ እና ኑረዲን ሀሰን የተባሉት ተጠርጣሪዎች በቁጥጥር ስር መዋላቸውን መግለጫው አስታውቋል፡፡) Thats false. Nimona Chali was arrested on May 16 ( see the report by Human Rights League of Horn of Africa filed on May 24). Aslan and other students were arrested on May 29.

4) The regime claims Abebe Urgessa fled to Western Shawa province where he was captured. False, Abebe was reported arrested on campus on May 4.

5) The regime says Abebe Urgessa threw the hand grande, and then resorted to beating students with stick. ( አበበ ዑርጌሳ ቦንቡን ከወረወረ በኋላ ይዞት በነበረው ፌሮ ብረት በአካባቢው የነበሩ ተማሪዎችን ደብድቦ ጉዳት በማድረስ) Imagine that! A young inexperienced students, who was supposedly shown how to operate grande only earlier the same day ( according to the report), throws a bomb on room full of students, then has the nerve to stay there beat the victims with stick?

6) The regime also alleges that right after the grenade exploded the four along their collaborators beat up injured 50 students.( ቦንቡ ከተወረወረ በኋላ ቀሪዎቹም ተጠርጣሪዎች ካደራጇቸው ሌሎች ተማሪዎች ጋር በመሆን ከቦንቡ ጥቃት የተረፉ ተማሪዎችን በፌሮና በድንጋይ ደብድበዋል፡፡) Imagine that? Does it really make sense?

7) The report also claims that Aslan killed himself because he regretted and was depressed about his actions. (ኑረዲን ሀሰን የተባለውና በገዛ እጁ ህይወቱን ያጠፋው ተጠርጣሪ ከተያዘበት ጊዜ ጀምሮ ጥልቅ ፀፀትና ብስጭት ይታይበት እንደነበረና “ለወላጆቼ የምከፍላቸው ወለታ ይህ ነው ወይ” ሲል እንደነበር ጠባቂዎቹ መስማታቸውን መግለጫው አትቷል፡፡) If that is so, how come he didn't kill himself during one month period between the date of the alleged crime and his arrest?

Bottom line, this is just another fake drama composed by the regime to justify a cold blooded murder of another Oromo student. What might make this one a bit different is that its hastily composed leaving too much holes in it.
