Declaration
The Peoples’ Alliance for Freedom and Democracy
(OLF, ONLF, SLF and some candidates of AFD)
The aforementioned peoples’ alliances of Ogaden Somalis, Oromo, Sidama and the new candidates of AFD:
After deliberating on the current situation in Ethiopia and carefully observing the level of struggle against the current regime and the apparent confusion created by the sudden disappearance of Meles Zenawi, the “strong man” ruling Ethiopia for the past twenty one years; Being apprehensive of the current regimes attempts to delude the peoples in Ethiopia regarding Zenawi’s fate and their attempt to maintain the statusquo in order to continue their ruthless suppression of all peoples in Ethiopia; After considering, the current disarray and lack of political will of some opposition groups to embrace the political and social changes that Ethiopia has undergone in the last forty years and their archaic adherence to political precepts that are no longer tenable in the 21 century such as negating the rights of nations in Ethiopia to self‐determination; After considering the opportunistic utterances of some sectors of the opposition regarding the aftermath of future change of polity in Ethiopia, which neglects the long struggle of the oppressed peoples in Ethiopia who were subjugated, disenfranchised and virtually enslaved even before the current regime came to power in Ethiopia; Being cognizant of the fact that some sectors of the opposition are aspiring to reversing the historic acceptance in principle but not in practice by the present regime of the rights of all nations and nationalities under Ethiopian rule for their inalienable right to exercise their selfdetermination; Asserting that the oppressed peoples who had fought with their blood and still keeps fighting successive oppressive regimes in Ethiopia will never allow the reversal of their revolutionary gains;

The biggest African dictator, Meles Zenawi (57 years old) passed away according to reports from ESAT radio. The dictator who ruled Ethiopian empire for the last 21 years only seen twice in public for the last 75 days.

Ethnic clash caused crises in southern Oromia

(BBC) Ethnic clashes in southern Ethiopia are reported to have left at least 18 people dead and 12 others injured.

(BBC) Ethnic clashes in southern Ethiopia are reported to have left at least 18 people dead and 12 others injured.
More than 20,000 people have crossed into Kenya to escape the fighting, the Kenyan Red Cross says.
A spokesman said that people were continuing to cross the border although Ethiopian government forces had intervened to stop the fighting.

The purpose of the Oromo struggle is justice. Hate speeches about the OLF and the Oromo people broadcast currently on media networks run by some Amhara elites in the diaspora cannot change that fact. We know, and must make it known, that the OLF is seeking justice for the Oromo people. The OLF exists not to commit injustice against others, including our enemies.
In his famous speech, “I have a dream” delivered on 28 August 1963, Martin Luther King reminded the 200,000 men and women, who participated in the famous March on Washington that “In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

Events of 2011
Ethiopian authorities continued to severely restrict basic rights of freedom of expression, association, and assembly. Hundreds of Ethiopians in 2011 were arbitrarily arrested and detained and remain at risk of torture and ill-treatment.
Attacks on political opposition and dissent persisted throughout 2011, with mass arrests of ethnic Oromo, including members of the Oromo political opposition in March, and a wider crackdown with arrests of journalists and opposition politicians from June to September 2011.

GENEVA– A number of UN human rights experts on Thursday expressed their dismay at the continuing abuse of anti-terrorism legislation to curb freedom of expression in Ethiopia.
A week ago, three journalists and two opposition politicians* were given prison sentences ranging from 14 years to life imprisonment under Ethiopia's anti-terrorism laws. This follows the sentencing of two Swedish journalists to 11 years in prison on 27 December 2011. Another 24 defendants are scheduled to appear before the court on 5 March 2012, for various charges under the anti-terrorism law, several of whom may face the death sentence if convicted.

Divide And Rule The OROMO People

In politics and Sociology, Divide and Rule also known as Divide and Conquer is a combination of Political, military and economic strategy of gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into chunks that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy. The concept refers to a strategy that breaks up existing power structures and prevents smaller power groups from linking up.
In specific case, divide and rule is the system that the Ethiopian rulers have used to successfully colonize, harass, and abuse the Oromo people for long and still holding on the way. Today also TPLF / The Tigrian peoples Liberation Front/ keeping to use the technique to harass the Oromo people and other peoples of Ethiopia .
