MOGADISHU, Somalia, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Four crew members of an Ethiopian air force plane died Friday when the aircraft crashed at the international airport in the capital of Somalia, officials said.
The African Union Mission to Somalia said the plane "burst into flames immediately on crashing," CNN reported.
Two crew members were rescued and were treated for injuries, the Voice of America reported.
The cargo plane was carrying arms for AU forces backing the Somali government's effort to drive out al-Shabaab militants.
The AU has 17,000 troops in Somalia.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
