Apologists of #TPLFbarbarism are back with their shameless effort to justify the cruel act committed in Salale. Predictably they are trying to spin the story saying the region is not known for rebellion, the victims were bandits and the perpetrators were members of the public. Contrary to this claim, Salale was always known as the epicenter of rebellion against oppressive regimes.
As stated by Dereje Areda "such things had happened in Salale region to the three brothers Hagari Tullu, Hirko Tullu, and Jimma Tullu during Hailesilase. During Mengistu, it happened to Mulu Assanu and his grandson Married Taddassa and Dr. Taddassa Hordofa, Baqala Badhadha, Xaffa Sanyii and so on. At current administration it had happened to Badhadha Gildassa, Dhufera Detti and now to Katama Wubatu." These individuals are celebrated heroes with so many music dedicated to their names and deeds.
If the regime's narrative is true that these were random bandits
killed by the public, how come the state media waited over a month
before broadcasting it. and had to scramble just yesterday after the
story broke on social media? Given how remote the area is they thought
the story would not come it. Its obvious they want to cover it up for
two reasons.
First, they didn't want news of such heroic rebellion to reach the rest of the country. Our people will be justified if they seek vengeance by any means they see fit against such barbarism.
Second, they know that displaying such barbaric act on television would enrage the public. But truth cannot be hidden specially in the age of social media.
