Oromo-American Citizens Council (OACC) Press Release

What: 5th Annual International Human Rights Conference Presented by OACC
When: Saturday, March 16, 2013
Time: 2:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Where: University of Minnesota,
Topic: What’s Next for the Oromo People? Input From Oromo Political and Individuals

It is to be remembered that we had our 4th Annual Conference in 2010 under the title of “What’s Next for the Oromo.” Since then profound changes had taken place both in Ethiopia and in the Oromo national movement. However, we still did not answer the question of “what is next for the Oromo?” Therefore, it’s time to revisit this query and talk among ourselves and have a healthy debate on national issues common to all of us.

Please join the OACC and guest speakers to discuss this topic and to understand differences and to seek consensus for the road ahead. The OACC has invited a diverse group of Oromo political organizations and intellectuals for its 5th Annual International Human Rights Conference to answer some of your questions.

More information about the Conference, including confirmed guests, will be available soon.
